“Hooked” Comedy Web Series: Austin Comedy Short Film Festival Spring 2017 Official Selection

Director Luca Vecchi’s pilot episode of the Italian Web Series “Hooked” has amazing production value, acting and is very funny. This web series pilot will screen at the Austin Comedy Short Film Festival Spring 2017 on Monday April 10th, 2017 at the Alamo Drafthouse – Lakeline. Tagline: “In a closed system that totally lacks information, external circumstances can influence our judgement. A sloppy dressed girls shivers and drools convulsively on the edge of a highway. It is 4 in the morning. Luca and Valerio are the ones trying to prevent this story to become popular on medias, but the chances to save an overdosed girl when you took the same substances are really poor. More in details, they are almost non-existent if you are as high as a clumsy doped horse.”

“Sci Fi Chicks” Music Video: Austin Comedy Short Film Festival Spring 2017 Official Selection

“Sci Fi Chicks,” directed by Laura Hauschild, is a fun fast moving funny music Video. Abbey and Kat are LA-based working performers who met while working as waitresses – where they would serve famous stand ups, writers and producers who told them to “keep making content they believed in.” The women quickly bonded over the fact that they were both going out for roles that were one-dimensional and didn’t want to wait around to get picked. The duo also shared a desire to play roles embodied by strong female characters in iconic science fiction films from ‘The Terminator’ to ‘Mad Max.’

“You’re Alive” Austin Comedy Short Film Festival Spring 2017 Official Selection

An excellent, dialogue driven, micro short comedy film. Director W. Alex Reeves story about a man that find’s his long lost love quickly becomes very awkward and hilarious at the same time. Make sure to watch “You’re Alive” at the Austin Comedy Short Film Festival Spring 2017 at the Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline on Monday April 10th at 7:30pm. Director’s Statement: “One of my earliest lessons in life was when my dad taught me about Murphy’s Law. I must have been about 5 years old. I don’t remember why exactly he brought it up–I think he was having trouble fixing the training wheels on my bike–but it stuck with me. The concept that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong (and just the broader concept of irony in general), I think, informed a lot of my world view growing up. It certainly played a big role in developing my sense of humor. I learned very early on that there’s a thin line between comedy and tragedy, and I try to practice walking it everyday. I think that’s what drew me to Michael’s script for “You’re Alive.” Michael’s got a knack for capturing just the right mixture of comedy and tragedy in everyday situations. He makes you feel for the characters just as much as you laugh at them, and that’s not always easy. What I love most about this little short is that it makes a good point: even though all your best efforts to do the right thing will probably end up going wrong, do it anyway – it might be worth it. Murphy’s Law be damned.”
