“Austin Comedy Short Film Festival” Spring Official Film Selections and Awards

The Austin Comedy Short Film Festival Spring 2017 screened 30 films at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema: Lakeline on Monday April 10th, 2017 at 7:30pm – 10:30pm.

“The Anthesis of Man” Dark Comedy Film: Austin Short Film Festival Spring Official Selection

No guy likes to feel inadequate, but what if you could really do something about it? “Anthesis of Man,” written by Lauren Ford and directed by Dan Macarthur gets your wondering in this Australian Comedy short that will play at the Austin Comedy Short Film Festival Spring 2017 on Monday April 10th, 2017. A special effects designer is finishing off his latest creation, a male victim for a monster horror film when his creation suddenly comes to life. Displeased with not getting any male appendage, his creation demands he gives him his manhood. The Anthesis of Man is a 7-minute comedy/horror featuring a monster, a victim with no penis and a man just trying to keep everyone happy.

Austin Comedy Short Film Festival Fall Submissions are now open!

Comedy Short Film
The ACSFF is looking for funny and
engaging Comedy Short Films that are a minimum of 6 minutes but are
no longer than 30 minutes, including all credits. All varieties of
Comedy is accepted in this category, including Romantic Comedy, Dark
Comedy, Animated Films, Mockumentary Films, Comedy Web Series,
International Comedy and anything else that will bring laughter to
our audience. We screen short comedy films in a back-to-back format
that is fast-paced, fun, and a unique experience for our audience. All
languages are accepted, but the subtitles must be in English.
Micro Comedy Short Film
The Austin Comedy Short Film Festival is looking for funny and
engaging Comedy Micro Short Films that are a maximum of 5 minutes in
length, including all credits. All varieties of Comedy are accepted in
this category, including Romantic Comedy, Dark Comedy, Animated Films,
Mockumentary Films, Comedy Web Series, International Comedy, and
anything else that will bring laughter to our audience. We screen
short comedy films in a back-to-back format that is fast-paced, fun
and a unique experience for our audience. All languages are accepted,
but the subtitles must be in English.
Funny Music Video
The Austin Comedy Short Film Festival is looking for funny and
engaging music videos that are thought provoking and make people
laugh. Funny Music Videos must be 5 minutes or less in length
including credits. Public music videos that are currently on youtube,
Vimeo or Vevo are eligible.
Comedy Feature Film Screenplay
The Austin Comedy Short Film Festival is looking for funny and
engaging writing that is thought provoking and makes people laugh. A
Comedy Feature Film Screenplay must be a minimum length of 31 pages
and a maximum length of 100 pages. All screenplays must be written in
English. 12 different judges will read every word of every screenplay
submitted.
Comedy Short Film Screenplay
The Austin Comedy Short Film Festival is looking for funny and engaging writing that is thought-provoking and makes people laugh. A Comedy Short Film Screenplay must be a maximum length of 30 pages. All screenplays must be written in English. Twelve different judges will read every word of every screenplay submitted.
Our panel of 12 judges will present twelve different awards at this festival.

All films are screened on a giant theater screen in High Definition Blu-Ray Format at the Alamo Drafthouse – Lakeline in North Austin, Texas.
